The Van Ross Foundation has established itself as a premier golfing organisation, hosting successful tournaments across South Africa
since 2021.
Our events, including the Van Ross Shootout, Van Ross KZN Invitational, have attracted enthusiastic golfers from various provinces. Beyond promoting sport, we aim to give back to the community by supporting charitable initiatives, particularly through our partnerships with the Atterbury Foundation and Startwell.

Background
Our journey began with the inaugural Van Ross Shootout in November 2021, featuring iconic golf courses in the Garden Route. The event’s success led to subsequent tournaments, expanding our reach and introducing new events like the Van Ross Sun City Invitational, Van Ross Wild Coast Couples, Van Ross Overberg Challenge and Van Ross Fancourt Experience. We’ve grown to include couples in our events, promoting golf as an inclusive sport. With the support of like-minded individuals, we’re poised for further growth and impact.

Charitable Project - Birdies for Charity
Beyond promoting sport, we aim to give back to the community by supporting charitable initiatives, particularly through our
partnerships with the Atterbury Foundation and Startwell. Our golfers’ enthusiasm to make a difference inspired the Birdies for Charity
initiative. We’ve introduced a scoring system, where players can contribute based on their performance:
Nourishing Young Minds and Bodies
In partnership with the Atterbury Foundation and Startwell,
we’re dedicated to providing daily, nutrient-rich meals to
underprivileged pre-schoolers in disadvantaged communities.
Our focus is on ensuring these children receive bioavailable, high protein meals during their critical early development phases
The Startwell Solution
Startwell introduced the Startwell Grow Meal in 2018,
specifically designed to nourish toddlers and children aged 18
months to 6 years. Recognising the need for a nutrient-rich
option for babies, they launched a cereal in 2023, scientifically
formulated for infants aged 6 to 18 months. This cereal provides
a wholesome introduction to solids and complementary food
for babies, with a preservative and colorant-free composition.
